Australia's Foreign Minister Penny Wong pledged to work with Japan on Monday to "navigate global disruption" in the wake of the Iran war and the "effective closure" of the Strait of Hormuz. Wong made the comments during talks with her Japanese counterpart Toshimitsu Motegi in Tokyo, the first stop on a tour this week that includes China and South Korea.

The Australian minister, who will be in China on Wednesday for strategic talks with Foreign Minister Wang Yi, stressed the importance of trade ties and a "stable and constructive relationship" with Beijing. On Thursday, Wong will visit South Korea for talks with Foreign Minister Cho Hyun.
