Sports Sector: 100-Day Smart School & Football Programs

Union Minister for Sports U Ye Myint Tun visited the Taungoo District Sports Ground in Bago Region on Sunday, to inspect the football field, track, spectator stands, gym, and water systems.

He emphasized on the maintenance, cleanliness, and proper preparation for public use and sports activities. The Union Minister also met with staff from districts and townships to provide guidance, on implementing the 100-Day Plan, including the Smart School and Football For School programs in basic education schools.

The pilot projects will be carried out in five districts/townships of Bago Region, as well as schools in Yangon, Mandalay and Ayeyawady Regions and Shan State. In meeting with officials from the Myanmar Football Federation in Yangon, the Union Minister discussed for implementing the Smart School and Football For School programs within 100 days.

The initiative aims to improve youth physical fitness, train new athletes, organize competitions, and provide sports equipment and teacher support. The Union Minister encouraged close collaboration between government officials, ministries, and relevant departments to raise sports standards and achieve national success.
