Renovation Works: Union Minister inspects pagoda renovations

Union Minister for Hotels, Tourism and Culture U Maung Myint, accompanied by officials, on Friday visited historic pagodas and monasteries in Mandalay damaged by the 2025 earthquake.

The Union Minister reviewed ongoing repair works, emphasizing the use of original materials, preserving the architectural integrity, and ensuring long-term stability. He instructed officials to follow detailed restoration plans, safeguard historical features, and coordinate with experts to prevent future damage.

The Union Minister also highlighted the importance of maintaining these cultural heritage sites as a link to Myanmar’s rich history while ensuring to remain safe and accessible to visitors.
