MLC Cooperation: Launching of National Environmental Laboratory Project

Phase 1 of the National Environmental Laboratory Project launched in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday. Funded by the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund (2025), the project aims to monitor air, water, and soil quality, improve staff capacity, and establish national environmental standards.

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Hsan Oo highlighted that the lab will help collect reliable data to protect Myanmar’s environment and support effective environmental management. The project’s second and third phases will continue according to schedule.
