C-in-C Order: Martial Law Order No. 2/2026

The Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services issued Martial Law Order No. 2/2026 on April 23.

The order follows the declaration of a state of emergency in certain townships to control armed violence, maintain stability, and enforce the rule of law. Administrative and judicial powers in the affected areas have been transferred to the Commander-in-Chief, who has further delegated authority to regional military commanders in accordance with the Section 413(b) of the Constitution.

Regional commanders are authorized to exercise these powers directly or assign responsibilities to local military officials depending on the situation. The order was signed by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo.
