






The Union Minister for Education, Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein, along with responsible officials, visited the Naypyitaw State Academy on April 21st. The Union Minister inspected the completed status of the Recreation Centre and subsequently toured and examined the premises to explore the possibility of opening a Centre for Research and Innovation (CRI) at the Naypyitaw State Academy.
Afterwards, the Union Minister met with Directors General, the Rector, Pro-Rectors, Professors (Heads of Department), and responsible officials at the Naypyitaw State Academy meeting hall. She stated that she was there to study the matters that need to be implemented, as the President had already provided guidance to develop the Naypyitaw State Academy as a pioneering university for enhancing research capacity.
She added that since the Naypyitaw State Academy is a leading national university, it must always participate in pilot projects. She also mentioned that the Centre for Research and Innovation (CRI) would be established and implemented at Nay Pyi Taw State Academy, Yangon University, and Mandalay University.
Noting that human resources and internationally standard research equipment have already been adequately provided for conducting research and innovation activities at the Naypyitaw State Academy, she instructed that work must be carried out within 100 days to produce beneficial and effective research for the nation.
Subsequently, the Deputy Minister, Dr. Zaw Myint, presented that he would coordinate to comprehensively provide the equipment actually needed for establishing the CRI at the Naypyitaw State Academy. He also reported that regarding the Learning Management System (LMS), the necessary digital education infrastructure at Naypyitaw State Academy, including Smart TVs, a Digital Learning Centre, the LMS system, and high-speed internet lines, have already been installed.
Therefore, he would work to promote teaching, research, and innovation activities. Following this, the Rector of Naypyitaw State Academy, Dr. Nu Nu Lwin, and the Professors (Heads of Department) discussed and presented matters, and the Union Minister coordinated and addressed the necessary requirements.
Continuing, the Union Minister attended and delivered an opening speech at the Coordination Meeting for 2025-2026 Academic Year Lu Yay Chun or Outstanding Student’s Camps Opening held in the afternoon at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Education. She stated that she wanted the respective committees to clarify the completed status of their tasks. After that, the Sub-Committee Chairpersons clarified the completion status of their respective committees' work. The attendees then discussed and offered suggestions collectively, after which the Union Minister delivered a concluding speech, it’s reported.
