As the Kayah State Government continues to successfully implement regional development projects, Chief Minister U Ant Maw, accompanied by State Government members and officials, inspected a model pig farm and beekeeping operations on April 21.

First, the Chief Minister and officials arrived at the Model Pig Farm, established to develop the state’s livestock sector and serve as a demonstration center for local breeders. The Head of the State Livestock and Veterinary Department explained the current status of breeding meat-producing pigs and pedigree pigs. After touring the facilities, the Chief Minister provided necessary instructions for the farm’s operations.

Next, the Chief Minister inspected the site designated for the construction of a Model Layer Chicken Farm for the 2026-2027 fiscal year, directing officials to expedite the implementation of the project.

He then proceeded to the Queen Bee Breeding Station of the Beekeeping Sub-department in Yay Ni Kan Village. After inspecting the hives, he instructed officials to carry out educational activities regarding beekeeping, ensure seasonal crop cultivation to provide sufficient forage for the bees, and work toward the continuous increase and improvement of honey production, it’s reported.
