Providing Assistances and Supplies: MGY CM provided assistances for affected-households

On April 19, at around 5:00 PM, a rainstorm with strong winds occurred in Pwintbyu and Salin Townships, Minbu District, Magway Region. To ensure the well-being and comfortable living of storm-affected residents in these townships, a ceremony to provide cash assistance for housing construction and 16 types of relief supplies was held on April 20 at the General Administration Department Office's Bo Ottama Hall in Pwintbyu Township. The Chief Minister of Magway Region, U Tin Ko Ko, attended and handed over the relief supplies.

First, the Chairpersons of the Township Administration and Management Committees explained the damage and impact caused by the rainstorm and strong winds in Salin and Pwintbyu Townships.

Then, Chief Minister U Tin Ko Ko delivered a speech and coordinated necessary actions based on the submissions from the storm-affected residents.

Subsequently, Chief Minister U Tin Ko Ko and responsible officials provided assistance to the storm-affected residents, including housing construction funds for 48 completely destroyed houses and 238 partially damaged houses from 1 ward and 6 villages in Salin Township, Minbu District; two weeks' worth of rice expenses for 787 storm-affected individuals; 50,000 kyats for one injured person; totaling 20.685 million kyats in cash assistance; along with 16 types of relief supplies (sufficient for 48 households) valued at 5.068 million kyats. The total cash and relief assistance amounted to 25.853 million kyats. Additionally, the Chief Minister also provided 1 million kyats each to three local infantry battalions and a police force where there were storm-related damages.

Afterward, Chief Minister along with Region ministers and responsible officials from regional, district, and township levels, inspected the damage caused by the strong winds in Pwintbyu Township, as well as the ongoing cleanup operations. They also observed the distribution of locally produced diesel at special reduced prices directly to farmers' fields to enable local farmers to cultivate summer paddy and oilseed crops. The Chief Minister coordinated with relevant departments on necessary matters, it’s reported.
