Flood Prevention Measures: MOALI Union Minister inspects work undertakings

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung on Sunday, inspected flood prevention works in Nay Pyi Taw Zeyathiri Township to reduce flooding during the rainy season.

Together with officials, the Union Minister visited drainage and stream improvement works at Ma Paik Kyal Creek to ensure better water flow. At Thet Hnin Inn Village-tract, the Union Minister discussed plans to widen and improve the Narban Creek.

He instructed officials to prevent illegal land use, carefully measure and straighten the stream where possible, and coordinate with relevant departments to reduce impact on farmland. He also inspected the construction of the Kyun Yaung , Ai Sauk , and Paunglaung drainage channels and urged workers to complete the project before the rainy season using machinery without delay.

The completed drainage system will help prevent flooding in nearby areas, and also provide proper waste management in surrounding communities through cooperation with local organizations.
