Maintenance work starts at the Chipwi Nge Hydropower Plant on April 18 and it will last about two weeks. During the maintenance period, electricity will be temporarily cut.

To reduce inconvenience to residents, the state government has planned daily electricity supply through generators, charging points for devices, and support from local religious and community organizations. Arrangements have also been made to ensure access to water and to maintain essential services at offices.

On April 17, Chief Minister of Kachin State U Khet Htein Nan visited Myitkyina to coordinate with local authorities ahead of the work process. Local administrators and officials have been instructed to inform residents about the plans and to coordinate closely to provide electricity and water where needed. The state government emphasized ensuring safety, minimizing disruption, and maintaining essential services during the maintenance work.
