Coordination meeting : Renovation works underway at Chipwi Nge Hydropower Plant

Renovation works are underway at Chipwi Nge Hydropower Plant in Kachin State. Due to renovation process, electricity shortages will occur in Myitkyina and Mohnyin Districts within the state.

On Thursday, a work coordination meeting to reduce electricity related difficulties of the public took place at the State Government Office with the attendance of Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan. The Chief Minister said the hydropower plant renovation works will be started on April 18th and it will last for about two weeks.

The concerned officials are urged to provide convenient arrangements for hospitals and banking operation, water supply, service sectors and MSME businesses. The attendees clarified the plans to be able to provide electricity and water access to the public through generators.

The Chief Minister and officials also coordinated plans to form Leading Committee and Working Committee as well as establishing the Supervising Offices.
