Thingyan Festival in Nay Pyi Taw : Celebrating the traditional water festival

On the Akyat Day of the Thingyan Festival, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Kan Myint Than and officials visited the pandals and walking festival events in Pyinmana and Lewe Townships to observe and join the celebrations.

The festivals featured traditional Myanmar cultural performances, water sprinkling with Eugenia Sprigs, donating charity foods, and local customs of applying Thanakha. The council Chairman and officials and their spouses encouraged participants and presented honorariums to performance groups. Festivities continued peacefully and joyfully in other townships across Nay Pyi Taw.
