At least 10 dead after boat hits bridge in India

Indian police said that at least 10 people were killed on Friday when a boat carrying dozens of passengers in northern India hit a pontoon bridge. The vessel was carrying 27 passengers when it overturned and It was not initially clear how many people were missing.

Rescuers from the fire department and divers were deployed to search for those who remained missing. Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered condolences, saying he was deeply pained by the tragedy and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
