Chinese President meets Austrian Chancellor

Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker in Beijing on Friday, calling on China and Europe to resolve economic and trade frictions through dialogue and pursue win-win cooperation.

Marking the 55th anniversary of China-Austria diplomatic ties, Xi highlighted trust and friendship as key features of bilateral relations. Stocker reaffirmed Austria’s commitment to its friendly strategic partnership with China and the one-China policy. Both sides agreed to build on their longstanding ties by expanding cooperation in trade, investment, science, technology and innovation, while boosting cultural, tourism and people-to-people exchanges.
