Pakistan-built robots serve taste of future to Karachi diners

Local humanoid robot waitresses named Robia and Jojo are serving food to customers at a neon-lit restaurant in Pakistan's Karachi megacity.

The robots were built by Syed Usama Aziz, an electrical engineer of the National University of Sciences and Technology through his Multan-based start-up, Cobot. The creator plans to integrate camera-based processing and image recognition so the robots can recognize returning customers and remember past orders.
