Pakistan, Afghanistan welcome China’s mediation

Both Pakistan and Afghanistan value and welcome China’s mediation efforts and are willing to sit down for negotiations, which is a positive development, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said on Friday. Mao was responding to a media inquiry over the talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan in China, as Beijing is seeking to push for easing the tension between the two neighboring Islamic countries.

“The recent escalation of the conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan, China has been mediating and facilitating talks in its own way. Mao added that China has maintained close communication with both sides through multiple channels and at various levels, creating conditions and providing a platform for dialogue.
