







In honor of the 81st Armed Forces Day, the opening ceremony for the new Township Court building in Daw-U Khu Ward, Loikaw, was held at the new facility in the morning of March 31st. The event was attended by Kayah State Chief Minister U Sein Oo, the Commander of Regional Military Operations, the State Chief Justice, members of the State Government, departmental officials, and officers and staff from the judicial department.
First, the State Chief Minister, Commander of Regional Military Operations, State Chief Justice, Minister of Natural Resources Affairs, and Head of the State Judicial Department officially opened the new Loikaw District and Township Court by cutting the ceremonial ribbon.
Afterwards, the Head of the State Judicial Department delivered a speech of thanks regarding the opening of the new office. Following this, the State Chief Minister presented honorary cash awards to the Drum and Bugle Corps from No. (5) Basic Education High School, while the Secretary of the State Government presented awards to the Pom-Pom dance troupe.
Then, the State Chief Minister and officials took a documentary group photo before taking a tour inside the new office building.
Later, the State Chief Minister and officials went to observe and encourage the rehearsals of the State General Administration Department's Yein troupe, which is set to perform at the 2026 Maha Thingyan Festival. The State Chief Minister provided necessary guidance and handed out nutritional snacks to the dance instructors and troupe members.
Previously, in the afternoon of March 30, the Kayah State Chief Minister and officials inspected the construction of the central pavilion at the stone square in Kandahewun Park—the designated venue for the 2026 Maha Thingyan Festival as well as the setup for the walking Thingyan area. During the visit, responsible officials presented a briefing on the progress and completion status of the works.
The State Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure the Maha Thingyan pavilion construction is completed on time, that there is a sufficient water supply for the festival, and that arrangements are made so the public can participate happily and peacefully in the walking Thingyan, coordinating all necessary requirements to achieve this, it’s reported.
