








Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, together with the Commander of East Command Brigadier General Kyaw Naing Oo and officials, attended the opening of a new four-storey RCC building of the Shan State Auditor General Office in Taunggyi Township to mark the 81st Anniversary Armed Forces Day.
The Chief Minister formally opened the ceremony and unveiled the signboard. Cash prizes were awarded to the performing troupes of No.2 Basic Education High School, and the Chief Minister and party sprinkled scented water on the inscription and signed the guest book. In his remarks, the Chief Minister said the new office was constructed to facilitate audit work, funded with over 2.089 billion kyats from the 2024–2025 and 2025–2026 state budgets.
The building, completed in March 2026, will support training, refresher courses and coordination meetings and the departmental staff were urged to maintain it. The Permanent Secretary from the Union Auditor General Office then delivered remarks and the Director of the State Auditor General Office gave words of thanks.
Commemorative gifts were presented to the Chief Minister and the Permanent Secretary and Construction documents were handed over to the Director. The Chief Minister and party later toured the newly opened facility. Later, the Chief Minister and party attended a blood donation event at the Women and Children Hospital, where 136 donors from the Tatmadaw, police and YMBA participated.
Certificates of honor were also awarded to the donors. They also attended the launch of “Pine City (Kalaw) Magazine” at the Taunggyi Community Centre. At the ceremony, the Chief Minister said that since the 2024–2025, the relevant departments, the Shan State Library Foundation and writers’ associations have jointly carried out library development and reading promotion festivals, under the guidance of the Shan State Government.
He noted that Shan Cherry Magazine was published in 2024 to document these activities, and in 2025, the Pine City (Kalaw) Magazine was issued as a record for Shan State. The Chief Minister expressed words of thanks to all contributors for the publication.
The Chairman of the Shan State Library Foundation explained the magazine’s publication, while U Ko Ko Gyi from the Kalaw Township Writers’ Association delivered words of thanks. The Chief Minister presented a certificate of honor to Dr. Nandar Hla Myint for donating 15 million kyats towards publication costs.
Certificates were also awarded to the magazine’s founding committee and authors by the East Command Commander Brigadier General Kyaw Naing Oo and state ministers. Afterwards, the Chief Minister and party toured the Community Centre and observed summer basic English and computer training classes.
