Operation in Myawaddy: 69 foreign nationals arrested for illegal entry

Authorities arrested 69 foreign nationals illegally entering the country near Mae Htaw Tha Lay Village in Myawaddy Township of Kayin State on March 14.

The group includes 65 Chinese, 2 Vietnamese, 1 Malaysian, 1 Russian, and 1 Laotian. They were found hiding in a forest about 650 meters east of the village. The detainees are being held in Myawaddy while authorities record their details. Myanmar continues to work with neighboring countries to prevent illegal border crossings and crack down on online gambling.
