Matriculation Examination: Taninthayi Region CM observed the exam centers

On the morning of March 11, at the Examination Centre located in Basic Education High School No. (1) in Dawei, Tanintharyi Region, students were peacefully sitting for the Myanmar language subject paper of the 2026 Matriculation Examination. The event was observed and supported by the Tanintharyi Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko, along with region ministers and responsible officials.

Initially, the Director U Win Naung from the Region Education Office reported on the arrangements made during the examination period, as well as the numbers of students who sat for and were absent from the exam. In response, Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko instructed the supervisors assigned to the examination rooms and relevant officials to ensure necessary provisions are made for students to take the exam with peace of mind, to pay close attention to the students' health, and to collectively assist in enabling students to sit for the exam in accordance with the examination rules and regulations.

It is reported that within Tanintharyi Region, a total of 6,323 students are sitting for the Matriculation Examination across 17 designated examination centres. For the Myanmar language subject, 5,991 students sat for the exam, representing an attendance rate of 94.75%, while 332 students (5.25%) were absent. Additionally, 38 students (29 males and 9 females) are sitting for the entrance examination for the universities and institutes of Technology, Agriculture, and Livestock Breeding.

At the examination centres, responsible security personnel and the citizens with the sense of obligation are collaborating to ensure a peaceful examination environment for the teachers and students and for the safety of the parents, it’s learnt.
