Inspection of Renovation Works: NPT Council Chairman inspected renovation works

Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo, along with officials, visited the Yangon-Mandalay Union Highway in Zeyathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, on March 10.

He conducted an inspection tour of the ongoing excavation of drainage ditches along both sides of the road, from the Pin Laung Junction to Kyaukchet Village, aimed at reducing flooding and improving water flow. He instructed responsible officials to ensure the ditches are kept clear of debris for efficient drainage, to excavate the drains systematically according to specified dimensions, to properly measure and set the levels of the drain floors, to systematically construct box culverts, and to prevent blockages caused by garbage.

Subsequently, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman and officials proceeded to the Pyinmana Bypass Road, where they inspected the cleanliness and beautification efforts along both sides of the road and provided necessary guidance. Following this, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman visited the Upatasanti Pagoda.

He inspected the renovation and repair works on the pagoda's platform, terraces, and precincts that were damaged by the earthquake. He also examined the progress of cement grouting and soil stabilization activities, as well as the excavation and preparation works on the original platform flooring. Based on explanations provided by responsible officials, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman instructed them to expedite the completion of the works, ensure long-term durability in accordance with prescribed standards, and systematically manage the technical renovation tasks.
