






Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo inspected reconstruction and collective cleaning activities at the earthquake-damaged Phaung Taw Chet Ma Pagoda on March 7th, together with council members and officials.
During the inspection, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman instructed responsible officials to improve water flow, maintain cleanliness, plant seasonal flowers, and ensure the timely reconstruction of the pagoda in line with established standards.
He later visited No. 19 Basic Education High School in Dekkhinathiri Township to inspect collective cleaning activities and preparations for the matriculation examination center.
During the visit, he also checked the sale of basic foodstuff, meat, fish, eggs, and vegetables at the specified reference prices. Similar cleaning activities are being carried out across other townships in Nay Pyi Taw on a weekly basis to maintain environmental cleanliness and improve water flow.
The Chairman then attended a basic foodstuff provision ceremony for supervisors, co-supervisors, and assistant supervisors of the 2026 Basic Education Matriculation Examination and the Industrial, Agriculture and Livestock Matriculation Examinations at the Nay Pyi Taw Council Office.
In his remarks, Chairman U Than Tun Oo said the examinations in Nay Pyi Taw will be held from March 11 to 18, adding that the council will provide guidance, supervision and full support to ensure they are conducted in accordance with the exam rules and regulations of the Myanmar Examinations Department.
He urged examination officials to carry out their responsibilities effectively so students can sit the exams smoothly, with peace of mind. After hearing reports exam-related issues, the council chairman and members presented basic foodstuffs and nutrition items to the supervisors and assistant supervisors through relevant township education officers.
