Monitoring and Assessment : Agricultural soil quality in Mekong Region

With the support of the 2025 Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund, Project Launching Ceremony of "Monitoring and Assessment of Agricultural Soil Quality in Mekong Region" was held at Shwe Nan Daw Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw attended the event and made a speech. The Union Minister stated the country’s efforts on active participation in regional cooperation with neighboring countries, maintaining friendship, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence within the Mekong region.

He said Mekong-Lancang Cooperation – MLC is one of the successful cooperation and its special fund projects benefits for socio-economic life of the locals. He stressed that the new project which will be run soon, could enhance science and technology cooperation among domestic and international experts in studying and documenting agricultural soil quality in central Myanmar and Hainan area in China.

Then, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ms. Ma Jia delivered a speech. This was followed by presentation on project implementations and agricultural soil management on tropical crop in Hainan area in China.
