Work Undertakings: Peasants' Day closing ceremony & local development events

The closing ceremony and award presentation of the 64th anniversary Peasants' Day was held in Mayan Chaung Village of Pathein Township on March 4.

Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win, regional ministers, departmental officials and farmers attended the event. At the ceremony, awards were presented to districts that participated in the Farmers’ Day exhibition. Myaungmya District won first prize, Kyonepyaw District second prize and Labutta District third prize.

The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of developing agro-based industries, improving crop yields and increasing value-added agricultural products to support regional economic growth. After the ceremony, the Chief Minister visited demonstration projects including fish farming using cage culture systems and duck farming.

The Chief Minister also attended the opening of a new two-storey RCC school building at Hle Seik Village in Kyaunggon Township. He formally opened the building and provided cash rewards to teachers, students and performing groups. Later, he visited peanut farms in Yaykyi Township, observed the harvesting of winter peanuts and encouraged farmers to expand cultivation and produce high-quality seeds to help improve the country’s edible oil sufficiency.

The Chief Minister also attended the opening ceremonies of rural electrification projects in several villages and a 7-furlong village production road in Maezalikone Village, implemented with Union budget for the 2025–2026 fiscal year.
