A farmer technology discussion was held on Monday, during the second day of Seed Fair 2026 at the Agricultural Institute in Nay Pyi Taw Pyinmana. The discussion focused on “Farmer-Centered Ecosystem-Based Agriculture” and “Bioeconomy.”

Deputy Minister Dr. Tin Htut explained the importance of ecosystem-based farming, farmer-centered approaches, and the role of bioeconomy in modern agriculture. He highlighted ways to link bioeconomy practices with Myanmar’s agricultural development, increase farmers’ income, promote research and technology, and expand market opportunities.

Farmers were encouraged to grow crops based on market demand. The event aimed to share modern agricultural knowledge with farmers and gather their practical experiences to support farmer-focused research and sustainable agricultural development.

Seed Fair 2026 is being held from March 1 to 3. The exhibition features 91 varieties of 10 main crops and 53 varieties of 24 vegetable crops, along with displays from two departments and 34 companies. The event is open to the public free of charge.
