Meeting with IPRD Directors: MOI UM held meeting with IPRD Directors

The meeting between the Union Minister for Information and the Directors of the Information and Public Relations Department from the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, Regions, and States was held on February 24th at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Information.

Firstly, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn addressed the gathering. He stated that as personnel of the Ministry of Information are state media practitioners, they must possess the right perspective. He emphasized the need to cultivate good democratic practices, including mutual respect and teamwork.

He urged them to utilize their sound judgment to work towards the betterment of the country, their respective regions, and the department. Acting as a bridge between the people and the government, they have the responsibility to ensure that accurate information reaches the public and to protect them from the dangers of misinformation.

He noted that the State is working to enhance the education sector, as national progress can only be achieved with a skilled and educated human resource base. He concluded by encouraging everyone to strive with all their might to prevent the spread of fake news and misinformation, ensuring that truthful information reaches the public.

Following this, the Directors from the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, Regions, and States discussed and reported on their successful implementation of tasks during the year 2025. Subsequently, Deputy Minister U Ye Tint delivered a supplementary speech, and the Union Minister concluded the meeting with his closing remarks.
