







Myanmar Olympic Committee Chairman, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs and Hotels and Tourism Jeng Phang Naw Taung, along with other concerned officials, visited the Yamanya Stadium in Mon State on 22nd February.
At the state meeting hall, Director of the State Sports and Physical Education Department U Nay Myo Lwin reported on the implementation of ongoing works. The Union Minister reviewed the reports and provided necessary instructions. The Union Minister then inspected the stadium upgrading works and instructed officials to ensure adequate water supply for a green football pitch and check pipelines to improve the sprinkler system. He also instructed painting of goal posts, and advance arrangements for staff housing as part of the planned stadium expansion.
The Union Minister and party later inspected the designated construction site for an international-level swimming pool and instructed officials to build the swimming and diving pools simultaneously. After visiting the student stadium, they inspected the youth center building. The Union Minister then instructed to implement preparations for a synthetic running track to upgrade it to a district-level sports field, with only the semi-finals and finals to be held at Ramanya Stadium, it’s reported.
