







The opening ceremony of the 13th Myanmar Pathologists' Conference was held at the Wyndham Grand Hotel in Yangon Region on February 23.
The event was attended by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Deputy Minister for Health Professor Dr. Aye Tun, members of the regional government, officials from the Ministry of Health, departmental heads, rectors from medical and medical-related universities, and invited guests.
The ceremony commenced with the attendees saluting the Flag of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. This was followed by a cultural performance titled "Htaung Yaung Nay" by the Twal Tar Myanmar dance troupe.
The 13th Myanmar Pathologists' Conference was officially inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Deputy Minister Professor Dr. Aye Tun, and other senior officials.
Next, the Deputy Minister Professor Dr. Aye Tun delivered the opening remarks.
Then, the Professor Dr. Nyo Me May Thin, Chair of the Myanmar Pathologists' Association and Professor/Head of the Pathology Department at University of Medicine (1), Yangon, delivered a welcoming speech.
Following the speeches, the Twal Tar Myanmar dance troupe performed to the song "Ma Ma Pathein Thu."
After the performance, Chief Minister, Deputy Minister and officials toured and inspected the research posters and departmental exhibitions displayed at the venue.
The 13th Myanmar Pathologists' Conference will be held for two days, from February 23 to February 24, it’s learnt.
