A research project on the fishery resources of Tanintharyi's coastal waters will be conducted for 30 days.
The launching ceremony took place at Pyae Phyoe Tun Bridge in Pa Htet Village of Kyunsu Township. The research aims to study the marine ecosystem, including fish, plant life, and other aquatic species, using the M.V. SEAFDEC2 research vessel. This project is supported by the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC).
It is learnt that the research would provide valuable data on the region's marine environment, including water quality, fish populations, and biodiversity, and it is expected to help in the sustainable management of fishery resources. The research, running from February 22 to March 22, will involve international and local experts and aims to improve long-term sustainability for the region's fisheries and livelihoods.
