Religious Matters: Ninth State Sangha Central Working Committee meeting

The first day of the second meeting of the Ninth State Sangha Central Working Committee was held at the Thiri Mingala Kaba Aye Hill in Mayangon Township of Yangon Region on Thursday. Prior to the meeting, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin donated offertories to the Senior Sayadaws.

Then, the State Ovada Cariya Sayadaws delivered Ovada Gadha, followed by the Saraniya Ovada Gadha by Chairman Sayadaw Dr Baddanta Sandima Bhivamsa. Union Minister U Tin Oo Lwin later submitted the religious matters.

During the meeting, the Sayadaws recorded the lists of the State Ovada Cariya Sayadaws, State Sangha Maha Nayaka Sayadaws and member Sayadaws of State Sangha Central Working Committee who had demised during one-year tenure, appointment of substitute Sayadaws and sought for approval. In the afternoon session, the reports on Vinicchaya, Sasana, and academic affairs of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee were submitted.
