









Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan visited high schools in Myitkyina on Thursday, to observe face-to-face classes for Grade-12 students. The program aims to improve matriculation exam results. University professors and teachers from Myitkyina University are helping teach students from basic education and private high schools.
The Chief Minister encouraged students to study hard and awarded cash prizes to teachers.
On February 18, the Chief Minister held a coordination meeting to prepare for the Kachin State Youth Peace Forum 2026. Officials discussed plans to successfully organize the forum in Myitkyina and ensure youth from across the state can share their views on peace.
Later in the evening, the Chief Minister attended the 2026 Lisu Traditional New Year Festival. He expressed pride in celebrating with the Lisu ethnic community and encouraged unity for peace and development. He donated 5 million kyats to support the festival. Prizes were awarded to winners of traditional sports competitions, and attendees enjoyed traditional songs and dances.
