Officials’ Refresher Course: MOFR Union Minister attends the Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony of the Officials’ Refresher No. (2) was held on Thursday at the Ministry of Finance and Revenue.

Union Minister Dr. Kan Zaw highlighted that it has to collect government revenue to meet the targets and on the other hand, it needs to utilize the revenue effectively for government expenditures without waste and loss.

Moreover, it needs to consider thoroughly borrowing loans for the government to meet its budget not to burden for the country. As officials of the Treasury Department has duties to manage domestic and external debts in line with Public Debt Management Law and make debt sustainability analysis, he urged them to carry out efficiently debt management activities, government’s procurement and claim process, cash and debt management measures in collaboration with Union-level and Union Ministries in a timely manner.

He also encouraged the trainees to study thoroughly related subjects and experiences of public financial management and debt management analysis, to apply them in the field of public financial management, and to support public service activities efficiently and effectively for the economic development of the country accordingly. It is learnt that (31) officials from the departments under the Ministry of Finance and Revenue and related ministries will attend the course and it will last for 4 weeks.
