Social Welfare: Meeting with delegations from Russia

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Soe Win on Thursday met with Mr. Konstantin Kanarev, the Russia-Myanmar Trade Representative, and a delegation from the Shamanov Foundation, one of Russia’s largest charitable organizations.

During the meeting, they discussed providing humanitarian aid to disaster-affected people in Myanmar, cooperation to establish a Russia-Myanmar Joint Humanitarian Response Center, and plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries. They also talked about Russia’s support for the Mandalay earthquake, as well as Myanmar’s ongoing social protection, disaster management, and rehabilitation efforts.
