



The opening ceremony of the Special Refresher Training Course No. 28 for University and College Teachers was held in the morning of February 18 at Yadana Theingha Hall of Civil Service Academy (lower Myanmar), Phaunggyi, Hlegu Township, Yangon Region. The Chairman of Union Civil Service Board, U Soe Min Oo, attended the event and delivered the opening address.
In his speech, UCSB Chairman U Soe Min Oo emphasized that the higher education sector of universities and colleges is vital in accelerating the development of the nation's future. He noted that as teachers are civil servants, they must strive to be reliable personnel for the State and the people. He further stressed the importance of strictly adhering to Civil Service Laws, rules, regulations, and orders, and urged trainees to actively follow the instructions provided by the Civil Service Academy.
A total of 354 trainees are attending the Special Refresher Course No. (28), for University and College Teachers. The training will run for 5 weeks (from February 18, to March 20, 2026).
Following the ceremony, the Chairman inspected the departmental lectures, the Academy's agricultural projects, student hostels, and the dining hall. During his visit, the UCSB Chairman joined female trainees from the Clerical Staff Course No. 217 for lunch.
Later, in the Academy’s meeting hall, he met with the Rector, Pro-Rectors, and heads of the academic and administrative departments. He provided guidance on coordinating and collaborating effectively to meet training and administrative requirements, it’s reported.
