The Union Minister for Immigration and Population, U Myint Kyaing, accompanied by relevant officials, visited the Kalaw District and Township offices in Shan State (South), in the morning of February 18.

During the visit, the Union Minister inspected the ongoing major repairs of office buildings and perimeter walls that were damaged or destroyed by flooding during Typhoon Yagi. He provided necessary guidance regarding the reconstruction work and coordinated with officials to address their submitted requirements.

Following that, the Union Minister proceeded to the Thein Taung Pariyatti Monastery in Kalaw, which is currently serving as a temporary office for the Kalaw District and Township staff. There, he observed the staff members providing essential services to the public regarding Citizenship Security Cards (CSC) and Household List registration documents and the overall status of administrative operations within the temporary setup and instructed officials on operational requirements and ensured that the necessary resources were provided to maintain service continuity.

The Union Minister then held a meeting at the monastery with District and Township officers and staff from Taunggyi, Kalaw, Kutkai, Hopang, and Moemeik, as well as representatives from the Pa-O, Danu, Palaung, and Kokang Self-Administered Zones.

During the meeting, the Union Minister delivered a guidance speech and addressed the specific needs reported by the staff and provided food supplies and support provisions for the personnel of each district and Township, it’s reported.
