




Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo, together with other concerned officials inspected agricultural and infrastructure projects in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.
In ThaHtay Kone Village, Pyinmana Township, they oversaw15 acres of Russian sunflower hybrids at the township cooperative’s multipurpose farm and instructed farmers to use suitable varieties, proper soil and water management and balanced natural fertilizers to meet target yields.
The relevant officials explained cultivation techniques and water supply methods. The Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman later inspected the reconstruction of a steel-reinforced concrete bridge near the old Yangon-Mandalay Expressway in Lewe Township, damaged by an earthquake.
He called for timely completion, increased manpower and machinery, adherence to standards and strict workplace safety measures.
At KyaungYay Village in Lewe Township, he met farmers at the Farmers’ Knowledge Center, urging correct fertilizer use, systematic cultivation, and the planting of regionally essential crops to achieve high summer paddy yields. The urea fertilizers were also distributed during the meeting and the relevant officials coordinated farmers’ needs.
He also inspected repairs to the Nay Pyi Taw Circular Road (V4), funded by the State Supplementary Budget. He instructed the use of quality materials and disaster-resistant construction. Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman later oversaw land preparation and natural fertilizer application for 8 acres of paddy cultivation in KyoPin Village and gave further guidance to officials.
