Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, along with officials, conducted a site inspection on February 17 regarding the land designated for a truck parking project near Pin Ngo Village, Naung Lei village tract.
This project is intended to facilitate the parking of large cargo vehicles traveling on the Taunggyi-Lay Mile gway-Naungtali-Nyomee-Naungpanava-Linkwin-Htiri (Livestock Zone Road).
Initially, at the briefing hall, Taunggyi Township Development Affairs Committee Executive Officer U Kyaw Min Htike presented the status of the EOI process for the truck parking lot on a 19.8-acre plot of land adjacent to the Taunggyi Bypass Road, along with details concerning the Site Layout Plan.
Following the presentation, the Chief Minister discussed the need to allocate space for auto parts shops, restaurants, and minor vehicle repair services within the proposed truck parking area. He emphasized the necessity of implementing the project expeditiously once the EOI process is complete.
He also requested that officials report any project-related requirements, particularly concerning locations along the bypass road that pose the highest risks for vehicular and road accidents. Subsequently, the Chief Minister and relevant officials visited the designated land for the vehicle depot and inspected sections of the Taunggyi Bypass Road.
They examined the need for road repairs near the bamboo grove at the ascent area and the planned location for rectifying an "S" curve along the route (Lay Mile gway-Naungtali-Nyomee-Naungpanava-Linkwin-Htiri /Livestock Zone Road).
During the inspection, the Chief Minister gave supplementary directives to officials from the relevant Road Department regarding the necessary improvements. The team also inspected the ongoing construction work on a roadside retaining wall at a waterfall area on the ascent to Taunggyi, it’s reported.
