







The first-day session of the fourth plenary meeting of the 9th 47-member State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee was organized in the Maha Pasana Cave on Thiri Mingala Kaba Aye Hill in Yangon on February 16.
The meeting was attended by members of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee led by Chairman Sayadaw Abhidhaja Maharathaguru Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotika Thanlyin Min Kyaung Pahtamabyan Sarthintaik Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Candimabhivamsa , Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin, the Director-General of Religious Affairs Department and other officials of departments concerned.
Prior to the meeting, the Union Minister offered the offertories to the Sayadaws led by the Chairman Sayadaw of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee.
Chairman Sayadaw of State Sangha Mahanayaka Committee, Thanlyin Min Kyaung Pahtamabyan Sarthintaik Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Candimabhivamsa presided over the meeting and Joint Secretary Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotika Bhaddanta Jotissara acted as the master of ceremonies. First, the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Chairman Sayadaw recited Saraniya Ovada Katha to start the meeting.
The Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture presented matters related to religious affairs. Then, Joint Secretary Sayadaw Bhaddanta Sirikincanabhivamsa reported on the activities of the ninth Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee (second subcommittee) conducted during the second term.
The relevant Sayadaws of the subcommittee also submitted the activities of Vinicchaya affairs, religious affairs, education affairs. During the second session, the Sayadaws discussed religious affairs and Vinicchaya affairs and concluded the first day meeting of fourth plenary meeting of the 9th 47-member State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee.
Senior General Than Swe (Retd) and wife Daw Kyaing Kyaing family and Dhamma friends offered the first meal and the day meal to the Sayadaws attended the meeting, it’s learnt.
