Preparations for Readiness: Fire extinguishing demonstration in Magway

Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin visited the Regional Fire Services Department on Sunday, to inspect the readiness and condition of fire stations, fire engines, and equipment ahead of the open season.

Officials explained preparations to prevent fire hazards and respond quickly to emergencies and natural disasters. Firefighters demonstrated fire extinguishing using LUF 60 equipment and a heavy lifting and rescue vehicle.

The Chief Minister also reviewed the Command and Control Center, where advanced technology is used to manage fire and disaster response. It is reported that fire incidents in Magway Region have decreased annually from 2021 to 2025. The Department has been carrying out the fire safety awareness campaigns, inspections, drills, and training regularly.

In addition, preventive measures, including automatic fire suppression systems in hotels and emergency response plans for high-rise buildings, are also in place to reduce damage and ensure public safety.
