UEC Meeting: Meeting with the political parties in Nay Pyi Taw

A meeting between Union Election Commission (UEC) and Political Parties was held at the UEC Office in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.

In his opening remarks, the UEC Chairman underscored the successful 2025 Multi-party Democracy General Election, conducted in 3 phases starting on 28th December and expressed his appreciation for every service personnel, organization, political party and citizen who actively participated in the election despite difficulties and challenges.

He added that election results have been declared openly and those who consider their party or candidates are disadvantaged may file an objection within the specified period.  He added that although the election has been successfully concluded, the UEC continues actively engaged in its responsibilities.

The Commission continues to update and verify the voter lists, while also conducting a comprehensive review of the election process to assess its strengths and weaknesses. Also, necessary amendments to relevant laws and by-laws will be undertaken to enhance the overall integrity of future elections. As by-elections will be held in the remaining constituencies to fill vacant seats, political parties are encouraged to maintain close engagement with citizens.

The UEC Chairman called on alternative political parties to continue national politics outside the Hluttaw, prioritizing the interests of the people and working diligently to earn public trust. Next, the attendes presented reports on election and political matters and the UEC Chairman coordinated necessities.
