









The 79th Union Day Message Reading Ceremony was held at the Dhanyawaddy Sports Ground in Sittwe in the morning on February 12.
Attendees included Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and his wife, Commander of West-Command Maj-Gen Kyaw Swar Oo, Chief Justice of the State High Court, State Government members and their spouses, senior Tatmadaw officers from Sittwe Station, state, district, and township-level departmental officials; town-elders, representatives from political parties, ethnic representatives, teachers and students and invited guests.
The ceremony commenced with a march past by Tatmadaw columns and Myanmar Police Force columns. Led by the parade commander, they saluted to the Chief Minister U Htein Lin. Subsequently, the Chief Minister and attendees paid salute to the flag of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and paid tribute to the fallen martyrs and Tatmadaw members.
Following this, Chief Minister U Htein Lin read out the 79th Union Day message sent by the Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing.
After the message, the State Chief Minister cordially greeted and welcomed those attending the Union Day ceremony.
Then, the Chief Minister and his wife, along with the Commander, presented cash of honor to the honour guard members, Drum and Bugle Corps, and ethnic representatives who had participated and contributed to the 79th Union Day Message Reading Ceremony. They also posed for a group commemorative photograph together with the ethnic representatives.
