The Union Election Commission (UEC) has announced the list of Tatmadaw representatives to the Region or State Hluttaw, according to Notification No. 35/2026 on Wednesday.
It stated that following the multi-party democracy general election held in phases starting on December 28, 2025, the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services submitted the list of Tatmadaw nominees for the Region or State Hluttaw in accordance with the Region/State Hluttaw Election Law.
After scrutiny, the Union Election Commission has officially declared 202 nominated Tatmadaw personnel as Region or State Hluttaw representatives in line with Section 31 of the Region or State Hluttaw Election Law.
Likewise, the Union Election Commission issued a statement of special gratitude, stating that the Union Election Commission successfully conducted the multi-party democracy general election, which was held in phases starting from December 28, 2025, as a free, fair, and transparent election in accordance with the relevant respective Hluttaw election laws and bylaws.
In connection with the successful holding of this general election, the Commission hereby records its special appreciation and tribute to the domestic and international voters who cast advance votes, the voters who personally went to polling stations to cast their votes, responsible officials and staff from various ministries who diligently and capably participated in their state duties with voluntary spirit, intellectual power, and perseverance, individuals esteemed and trusted by the public serving in sub-commissions at various levels across regions and states, departmental responsible persons and all individuals from volunteer organizations.
