






An awareness seminar on upgrading agricultural machinery and equipment production was held in the afternoon of February (10) at the Supervisory Office of the Nay Pyi Taw Square, where the Union-level MSME Product Exhibition and Sales Fair is being held.
Attendees included the Vice-Chairman of the MSME Development Committee Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung, Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun Union Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin, Deputy Ministers from related ministries, Ministers from Regions and States governments, members from various operational committees and responsible officials from related ministries.
First, the Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation discussed that the strengths and weaknesses of the agricultural machinery and equipment displayed at this exhibition have been identified. He stated that efforts will be made to coordinate with entrepreneurs to address and improve upon the weaknesses.
Next, the Union Minister for Electric Power discussed that using agricultural machinery for farming operations allows for timely cultivation and harvesting, reduces waste, and thereby increases yield. Following that, the Union Minister for Energy discussed that they will collaborate to address the needs for producing high-quality agricultural machinery and equipment.
Then, the Union Minister for Industry invited the attending entrepreneurs to discuss how to produce agricultural machinery and equipment that meets quality standards. He stated that necessary requirements will be coordinated, integrated, and addressed.
Afterwards, the Chairmen of Region/State MSME Agencies and entrepreneurs discussed, by region/state, the production status of agricultural machinery and equipment and efforts to produce them in accordance with standards and quality requirements. Finally, the Union Minister for Industry delivered closing remarks and concluded the event.
