Shan State Day: Acting President sends message for 79th Shan State Day

Acting President, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing sent a message to mark the 79th Shan State Day which falls on February 7.

In his message, the Acting President extended greetings and best wishes for peace, health, and prosperity to ethnic people living in Shan State and across the country. He highlighted Shan State’s historical importance, ethnic diversity, natural beauty, and rich cultural heritage.

He recalled the unity and cooperation of ethnic nationalities during the struggle for independence and emphasized the significance of February 7 as Shan State Day, marking the agreement of Shan, Kachin, and Chin leaders to gain independence together with the mainland.

The Acting President stressed the importance of ethnic unity, peace, and cooperation to end armed conflicts and promote national development. He called on all ethnic armed organizations and armed groups in Shan State to work together through dialogue, reject violence, and support stability, peace, and development of the Union. He concluded by urging ethnic nationalities to cooperate with the government and Tatmadaw in building a peaceful, modern, and developed nation.
