LNG Power Plan : Meeting with officials and business owners

Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun met with regional and state government officials, industrialists, and business owners in Nay Pyi Taw to discuss plans to generate and distribute electricity using LNG.

At the meeting, the Union Minister said the government is working to ensure sufficient electricity supply to support economic growth and industrial production. He explained that LNG power generation is being implemented to meet short-term demand and ensure stable power supply for industrial zones.

He said that a new electricity tariff of 900 kyats per unit for industrial and commercial users will be applied starting February, while electricity rates for the general public will remain unchanged. Officials and business representatives discussed the impact of the new tariff and challenges, and the Union Minister responded and coordinated necessary measures.
