Htamanae-Making Competitions: Donations at Shwedagon and Maha Wizaya Pagodas

The opening ceremonies for the Htamanae donation and competition events took place on January 31, at the Shwedagon Pagoda and Maha Wizaya Pagoda.

A total of 36 teams competed in the event at Shwedagon Pagoda. Cash prizes were presented to the winners of first, second and third prizes as well as the consolation prizes. At the event at Maha Wizaya Pagoda, 15 teams from various townships across Yangon participated in the competition, with cash prizes and recognition awarded to the winners. It is learnt that the Htamanae offerings will be made to the Buddha Image and members of the Sangha.
