Tour in Mandalay : Acting President visits polling stations in Mandalay

Myanmar is conducting the election in three phases, with the Phase-1 on December 28, 2025, and Phase-2 on January 11, 2026, and the Phase-3 on the 25th.

Over 24.22 million individuals are eligible to vote for the election which has been held in three phases, covering 263 out of 330 townships across the country. Voters turnout in Phase-1 is 52.13% and Phase-2 is 55.59% respectively.

Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspected polling stations in Mandalay Region where voters were casting ballots in the Phase-3 of Multi-Party Democracy General Election.

During the visit, the Acting President observed voter list verification using computer systems, the voting process with MEVM machines, and the duties of polling staff. He also spoke with voters about their voting experience and greeted them.

Voters expressed pride and satisfaction at participating in the election and welcomed the visit by the Acting President and party. He also answered questions from local and international media during the inspection.  4,863 candidates from 57 political parties and individual candidates are competing in 692 constituencies. Among them, 6 parties are contesting nationwide while 51 in State/Region level.
