





The coordination meeting for the successful holding of Phase (2) of the 2025 Multi-Party Democracy General Election was held at the Minkala Hall of the Yangon Region Government Office on December 31. Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Commander Yangon Regional command Major General Pyae Sone Lin, Union Election Commission Member and Yangon Region Liaison Officer U Aung Saw Win, members of the Yangon Region Government, responsible officials from the Yangon Region Election Sub-Commission, heads of region-level departments, chairpersons and responsible persons of District/Township Management and Administration Committees, and responsible officials from District/Township Election Commission Sub-Committees attended the meeting.
First, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein delivered opening remarks, urging cooperation for the successful holding of a free and fair Multi-Party Democracy General Election, collaborative efforts by the relevant Township General Administration Department and Township Election Sub-Commission officials to ensure voters are informed in advance about voter list serial numbers, the prioritization of collaborative efforts by relevant departments at various levels for the successful conduct of the elections by parts, and collective cooperation in the tasks, among other points.
Following this, the Secretary of the Yangon Region Election Sub-Commission, U Zaw Naing Oo, explained the current status of preparatory work for the 2025 Multi-Party Democracy General Election.
Afterwards, Union Election Commission Member and Yangon Region Liaison Officer U Aung Saw Win, Commander Yangon Regional command Major General Pyae Sone Lin, and other attendees supplemented discussions on the preparatory work status for the 2025 Multi-Party Democracy General Election and matters related to preparations to facilitate voting for the electorate. Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein then coordinated and integrated necessary requirements, and delivered concluding remarks, it is reported.
