







In Kyauktada Township of Yangon Region, voters came to cast vote at the respective polling stations.
Seven candidates from Shan and Nationalities Democratic Party, People’s Party, Union Solidarity and Development Party, People’s Pioneer Party, Myanmar Farmers Development Party and two Independent Candidates run for Pyithu Hluttaw seats in Kyauktada Constituency, Voters expressed their hopes for betterment of the country, ensuring socio-economic development of the nation.
Voter, Aye Aye Maw said " Elections have been held once in five years. After casting our votes, we believe the candidate we chose will serve for the development of our country. I hope for betterment of social and economic status including health sector, since its' important for grassroot people like us."
Voter, Hla Ohn said " This is my third time casting vote in the election. Since this year use the voting machine. I think it's more convenient, we just need to press the button."
Voter, Htay Htay Si said " As the duty of a citizen, I come to cast vote for my favourite candidate. All four members of our family cast our votes."
Voter, Hnin Ei Hlaing said " This is my first time voting in the election. I hope the new elected government could bring better changes for the country."
Voter, Nwe Nwe Phyo said " I hope for more development of our country. This year use voting machine unlike the previous one. It's more convenient and there will be no invalid ballot."
This year's election is being conducted under a dual electoral system. The Pyithu Hluttaw continues to use the First-Past-the-Post (FPTP) system, while the Amyotha Hluttaw and Region/State Hluttaws are using a Mixed Member Proportional (MMP) system. The adoption of the MMP system is intended to allow representation in proportion to votes received, including for ethnic and smaller political parties.
