




The Union Minister for Education, Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein, held discussions with Rectors, Principals, Pro-Rectors and professors from universities and degree colleges at the meeting hall of Office No. (13), Ministry of Education, Nay Pyi Taw on December 22.
At the meeting, the Union Minister stated that it is necessary for teachers to take action to reduce the absent rates of students from universities and degree colleges. She emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to ensure regular student attendance and to create a conducive learning environment. She also urged teachers to carefully review and systematically supervise final-year students’ projects.
In order for students to fully experience the essence of university life, she encouraged their participation in on-campus sports activities and called for collective efforts to organize the Science Festival at Yangon University in a lively and grand manner.
In addition, she stressed the importance of systematically planning and organizing job-ready skills and vocational training programs that would support employability and job opportunities.
Subsequently, Deputy Ministers Dr. Zaw Myint and U Nay Myo Hlaing discussed the implementation of project-based learning at universities and degree colleges. They also emphasized the need to ensure that final-year students make mandatory use of libraries, the internet, and online libraries when carrying out their projects.
Furthermore, they highlighted the importance of arranging access for students to sports grounds and gymnasiums at schools, as well as systematically organizing measures related to campus cleanliness and pleasantness, waste management, drug abuse prevention, and fire hazard prevention.
